Native flora often rely on native bees to pollinate, and after significant amounts of habitat were destroyed in the bushfires of 2019/20, scientists found that at least 11 species of bees met the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) criteria to be listed as threatened. There is plenty that we can all do to provide the right environments for native bees to thrive.
